Sharing Documents with Collaborators
Craft allows you to share individual documents with others by granting them either viewing or editing access. To share a document:
- Open the document you want to share.
- Click the Share button in the top-right corner.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Choose whether they can View or Edit the document.
- Click Invite to send them an email notification.
Note: To edit a shared document, the collaborator must have a Craft account. However, for viewing access, they can open the document without logging in.
Sharing Documents Without Requiring Login
If you want to share a document without requiring the recipient to log in, you can generate a public share link:
- Open the document.
- Click the Share button.
- Select Get Shareable Link.
- Set the link's permissions to either View or Edit.
- Copy and share the link.
This allows anyone with the link to access the document with the permissions you've set.
Do You Need a Team Subscription for Collaboration?
No, you do not need a Team plan to collaborate on documents. You can share documents with anyone, even if they are not on your subscription. However, the Team plan offers additional collaboration features, including:
- Shared Spaces for organizing team projects.
- Centralized billing and team management.
- Administrative controls for managing team access.
For individual collaboration, the Plus or Pro plans provide everything you need to share and edit documents with others.
Real-Time Collaboration
Craft supports real-time editing, allowing multiple users to work on the same document simultaneously. Changes are updated instantly, making it easy to collaborate without delays.
Limitations: Can You Share Folders?
At this time, Craft does not support folder sharing. Collaboration is limited to individual documents, meaning you must share each document separately.
