Craft will automatically create a rich link for any external link you paste into an empty block:

Just like any standard attachment block, you can change the layout of a rich link in the three dots menu to "small", "regular" or "card": 

Also in the three dots menu, you can easily rename the title and the description of a rich link:

Reloading Link Info, in the three dots menu, will reset the rich link to their original title and description:

Any rich link can be turned into a text link in the three dots menu. However, you can prevent Craft from automatically creating a rich link by simply inserting the link in the middle of a sentence or hitting space before pasting the link in an empty block:

Change the color of text links in Account > Preferences > Appearance > Interface Color Accent:

Tip: Paste a link into a highlighted text or sentence with "command + v" or "ctrl + v" to instantly turn it into an external link:

Note: Craft for windows will not create rich links.
