Integrating Google Calendar with Craft

Craft allows you to connect your calendar for better scheduling and task management. While Craft does not support direct integration with Google Calendar, you can still sync your Google Calendar with Craft by adding it to Apple Calendar on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. This allows Google Calendar events to appear in Craft through Apple Calendar.

How to Sync Google Calendar with Craft (via Apple Calendar)

To see your Google Calendar events in Craft, you need to first add Google Calendar to Apple Calendar:

On Mac

  1. Open System Settings.
  2. Go to Internet Accounts > Add Account > Google.
  3. Sign in with your Google account.
  4. Check the box for Calendars to enable sync.

On iPhone/iPad

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Calendar > Accounts > Add Account > Google.
  3. Sign in with your Google account.
  4. Toggle Calendar on to sync.

Once Google Calendar is synced with Apple Calendar, it will be available inside Craft when you enable Calendar Integration in Craft’s settings.

Setting Up Calendar Integration in Craft

  1. Enable Calendar View in the Sidebar:
    • If the Calendar isn't visible in your left sidebar, click the sidebar dropdown and ensure 'Calendar' is checked.
  2. Initiate Calendar Integration:
    • Click on the 'Calendar' icon in the sidebar.
    • Click the 'Events' button and toggle on 'Show Calendar Events'.
    • A prompt will appear requesting permission for Craft to access your calendar via your Mac settings. Allow access to proceed.
  3. Restart Craft:
    • After granting access, restart the Craft app to apply the changes.
  4. Customize Visible Calendars:
    • After restarting, return to the Calendar view.
    • Click the 'Events' button.
    • Select which calendars you want to display if you have multiple calendars connected to your Apple Calendar.

By following these steps, your Google Calendar events, synced through Apple Calendar, will be visible within Craft, allowing you to manage your notes and schedule seamlessly.

Limitations & Workarounds

  • No direct Google Calendar integration – You must sync Google Calendar to Apple Calendar first.
  • Craft is not available as a web app, so you won’t be able to access your Craft tasks on a work computer where Craft isn’t installed. However, your calendar will remain accessible in Google Calendar and Apple Calendar.
