Using Llama 3.2 in Craft

Llama is an on-device AI model available in Craft, offering advanced reasoning and offline functionality. Here’s how to set up and switch between AI models while working in a document.

Configuring Llama

  • Open Settings
    • Launch Craft on your Mac, 
    • Click the profile icon in the top-right corner
    • Select Settings.
  • Access AI Models: In the Assistant section of Settings, click Manage.
  • Download Llama
    • Choose between: 
      • Llama R1 3B (advanced reasoning)  
      • Llama R1 1B (lightweight tasks). 
  • Verify Installation
    • Once download is complete, ensure your selected DeepSeek model is active in the Model section.

Switching AI Models While in a Document

You can quickly switch between AI models directly from a document:

  • Open a document in Craft where you want to use AI assistance.
  • Acticate the AI Assistant (our favorite way is using the forward slash key). 
  • In the prompt box, select your desired AI model from the dropdown (e.g., Llama R1 3B, GPT-4o).
  • The model will switch instantly, and you can immediately use it for tasks like content generation or reasoning.

Uninstalling Llama

Remove a Downloaded Model

  • Open Settings in Craft
  • Navigate to the Assistant section, click Manage.
  • Click on the blue checkmark button to delete any downloaded models instantly

Security & Data Privacy When Using LLaMa in Craft

LLaMa is an on-device AI model within Craft, meaning all data processing happens locally on your device without being transmitted to external servers. This ensures a high level of privacy and security for your information.

Since LLaMa runs entirely on-device:

  • Your data is not sent to external servers.
  • All processing happens locally, ensuring complete privacy.
  • You can use it offline, with no internet connection required.
  • No data is stored or collected by Craft when using LLaMa.
