Reference for Craft actions in Apple's Shortcuts app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Actions are grouped by the categories you see in Shortcuts. Expand an action for its parameters and what it returns. For the Document and Folder actions, select **Space** before opening the document or folder picker. The picker is empty until a Space is selected. Some actions can infer the Space from a document passed by an earlier action; Daily Note destinations still need an explicit Space. The document or folder must belong to that Space. To use an earlier result, insert it with the variable picker. When an action asks for a **Document**, **Folder**, or **Task**, pick one from the list or pass the result of an earlier Craft action. Typing a title or pasting a link doesn't work. Siri Actions use Apple's names instead: a **Note** is a Craft document and a **Reminder** is a Craft task. ## Documents Creates a new document in a Space, optionally inside a folder. Each run creates a new document, even if one with the same title already exists. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space where the document is created. | | **Folder** | Craft Folder | No | Unsorted | Destination folder in the selected Space. Markdown is converted into formatted Craft blocks. | | **Images** | List of image files | No | Empty | Images added to the body after Content. Doesn't set the document cover. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens the new document after it's created. | #### Returns **Craft Document:** the new document. Pass it to Add to Document, Rename Document, or Open Document. Used in [Import a text file with a generated title](/integrate/apple-shortcuts/examples#import-a-text-file-with-a-generated-title). Adds content to the beginning or end of a document or page. The existing content and title stay as they are. Each run adds the content again, even if it's already there. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | No | Space of the selected document | Destination Space. Select it when the destination is a Daily Note. | | **Document** | Craft Document or page | Yes | None | Destination document or page. Markdown is converted into formatted Craft blocks. | | **Images** | List of image files | No | Empty | Images added after Content. | | **Position** | Append or Prepend | No | Append | Adds the content at the end or beginning of the destination. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens the destination afterwards. | **Daily Note (Today)**, **Daily Note (Yesterday)**, and **Daily Note (Tomorrow)** always point to the right day when the shortcut runs. If that Daily Note doesn't exist yet, Craft creates it. To add to a page inside a document, pass the result of Find Page as the Document. If both Content and Images are empty, nothing is added. #### Returns **Craft Document:** the document that received the content. If you added to a page, you get its parent document, not the page or the new blocks. Used in [Voice inbox](/integrate/apple-shortcuts/examples#voice-inbox). Changes a document's title. Its content and folder stay as they are. Renames the whole document, not a page or heading inside it. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the document. | | **Document** | Craft Document | Yes | None | Document to rename. Passing a subpage instead of a whole document causes the action to fail. #### Returns **Craft Document:** the renamed document. Used in [Import a text file with a generated title](/integrate/apple-shortcuts/examples#import-a-text-file-with-a-generated-title). Moves a document to another folder in the same Space. Its title and content stay as they are. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the document. | | **Document** | Craft Document | Yes | None | Document to move. | | **Folder** | Craft Folder | No | Unsorted | Destination folder. Leave empty to move the document to Unsorted. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens the moved document afterwards. | Passing a subpage instead of a whole document causes the action to fail. #### Returns **Craft Document:** the moved document. Moves a document to Trash, or deletes it permanently if you turn on Delete Permanently. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the document. | | **Document** | Craft Document | Yes | None | Document to delete. | | **Delete Permanently** | Boolean | No | Off | Off moves the document to Trash. On deletes it permanently. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens Craft afterwards. | Passing a subpage instead of a whole document causes the action to fail. #### Returns Nothing. Looks inside a document or page for the title you enter, including nested content. Matching compares the whole title, ignoring capitalization, and checks pages before other blocks. Within each search, it returns the first match from the top. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the document. | | **Document** | Craft Document or page | Yes | None | Document or page to search. You can pass the result of an earlier action. | | **Title** | Text | Yes | None | Whole title to match, ignoring capitalization. Partial titles do not match. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens the matching page or block afterwards. | If no page matches, Find Page searches other blocks for matching text. It only searches the selected document or page and its nested content, not the whole Space. If nothing matches, the action fails with “Could not find subpage”. #### Returns **Craft Document or page:** the matching block. Pass it to Add to Document or Open Document. Markdown is converted into formatted Craft blocks. | | **Images** | List of image files | No | Empty | Images added after Content. | | **Position** | Append or Prepend | No | Append | Adds the page at the end or beginning of the destination. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens the new subpage afterwards. | Daily Note destinations always point to the right day when the shortcut runs, and Craft creates the Daily Note if it doesn't exist yet. #### Returns **Craft Document:** a Document value pointing to the new subpage, not its parent document. Pass it to actions that accept a document or page. Returns the text of the top-level blocks in a document or page. You can pass the result of an earlier action. | | **Number** | Integer | No | All top-level blocks | How many blocks to read, counting from the top. 0 returns empty text. | Only text blocks are returned. Code, tables, links, images, and files are skipped but still count toward Number. The document title isn't included. #### Returns **Text:** the text of each block, one per line. ## Folders Creates a folder in a Space, optionally inside another folder. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space where the folder is created. | | **Name** | Text | Yes | None | Folder name. Can't be empty. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens the renamed folder afterwards. | #### Returns **Craft Folder:** the renamed folder. Moves a folder into another folder in the same Space, or to the top level. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the folder. | | **Folder** | Craft Folder | Yes | None | Folder to move. | | **Parent Folder** | Craft Folder | No | None (top level) | Folder to move it into. Deletes a folder and its subfolders. The documents inside aren't deleted: they move to the parent folder, or to Unsorted if the folder was at the top level. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the folder. | | **Folder** | Craft Folder | Yes | None | Folder to delete. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens Craft afterwards. | Built-in folders can't be deleted. #### Returns Nothing. ## Navigation Opens Craft, optionally in a specific Space and view. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | No | Last used Space | Space to open. | | **Location** | Choice | No | None | All Docs, Tags, Starred, Tasks, or Calendar. | If both are empty, Craft opens where you left it. #### Returns Nothing. Opens search in a Space, optionally with a search term filled in. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space to search. | | **Query** | Text | No | Empty | Search term. Leave empty to open search without one. | #### Returns Nothing. Opens Quick Entry in the mode you choose, optionally with text filled in. On iPhone and iPad, it opens Quick Entry in Craft. The shortcut doesn't get back the item you create. #### Returns Nothing. ## Tags Shows the documents with a tag in a Space. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the tag. | | **Tag** | Craft Tag | Yes | None | Tag to open. Pick it from the list. | #### Returns Nothing. ## Tasks Creates a task at the top of a document or subpage, or in the Space's task Inbox. Content and images are added inside the task. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space for the task. | | **Document** | Craft Document or page | Yes | None | Document or subpage for the task, or Inbox. Pass a subpage from Find Page or Add Subpage to Document to create the task there. Reminder sends a notification, so it also needs a time. #### Returns **Craft Task:** the new task. Pass it to Set Task Status. Marks a task as Pending, Completed, or Canceled. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | Yes | None | Space containing the task. | | **Document** | Craft Document | Yes | None | The task's own document, or Inbox for an Inbox task. Opens one of your task lists in Craft. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Space** | Craft Space | No | Last used Space | Space whose tasks are shown. | | **Type of tasks** | Choice | No | All | Inbox, Today, Upcoming, or All. | #### Returns Nothing. ## Reminders Creates a Craft reminder that isn't attached to a document. This is different from Create Reminder in Siri Actions, which creates a task. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **User** | Craft User | Yes | None | Account that gets the reminder. | | **Due Date** | Choice | Yes | None | In 20 minutes, In 1 hour, In 3 hours, Tomorrow, Next week, Custom, or Save for Later. | | **Custom Date (yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm)** | Text | When Due Date is Custom | None | Reminder date and time. | | **Text** | Text | Yes | None | Reminder text. | | **Open App** | Boolean | No | Off | Opens Craft afterwards. | Save for Later creates a reminder without a due date. #### Returns Nothing. ## Siri Actions These actions follow Apple's own formats for notes, reminders, and in-app search, so Siri and Apple Intelligence can work with them. You can also add them to a shortcut like any other action. They need iOS, iPadOS, or macOS 27 or later. In these actions, a **note** is a Craft document and a **reminder** is a Craft task. Text is added as plain text: Markdown isn't converted. Documents in Templates and its subfolders are excluded from Find Note and Note pickers. Templates and its subfolders are also excluded from Folder pickers in Siri Actions. Creates a Craft document. The folder also decides the Space. | #### Returns **Craft Note:** the new document. Pass it to Open Note, Update Note, or Append Text to Note. Finds Craft documents across your Spaces. Documents in Trash, hidden documents, and documents in Templates or its subfolders aren't included. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Search text** | Text | No | None | Matches part of the title. Not case-sensitive. | | **Folder filter** | Craft Note Folder | No | None | Only find documents in this folder. | | **Space filter** | Craft Note Account | No | None | Only find documents in this Space. | | **Match mode** | All or Any | No | Set by Shortcuts | How multiple filters are combined. | | **Sort by** | Creation or modification date | No | None | Sort results by date created or date modified. | | **Sort order** | Ascending or Descending | No | None | Sort direction. | | **Limit** | Integer | No | All matches | Maximum number of results. | Shortcuts creates the search, filter, and sort options for this action, so their labels can vary between OS versions. Only titles are searched, not document content. #### Returns **List of Craft Notes:** the matching documents. Opens a Craft document. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Note** | Craft Note | Yes | None | Document to open, such as the result of Create Note or Find Note. | #### Returns Nothing. Changes a document's title, attachments, star, or folder. Anything you leave empty stays the same. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Note** | Craft Note | Yes | None | Document to update. | | **Title** | Text | No | Unchanged | New title. Leave empty to keep the current title. | | **Attachments** | List of files | No | Unchanged | Files added at the end of the document. Off removes the star. | | **Folder** | Craft Note Folder | No | Unchanged | Destination folder in the document's current Space. Select Unsorted to take it out of its folder. | The Folder picker lists folders across Spaces, labelled with the Space and folder names. Choose a folder in the document's current Space. A folder in another Space causes the action to fail with “The selected item belongs to a different space”. If a folder move fails, the action reports an error. Any title, star, or attachment changes already applied remain saved. To add text to the document, use Append Text to Note. #### Returns **Craft Note:** the updated document. Adds text to the end of a Craft document. Each non-empty line becomes its own block. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Note** | Craft Note | Yes | None | Document to add to. | | **Content** | Text | Yes | None | Text to add. Empty lines are skipped. | #### Returns **Craft Note:** the updated document. Creates a Craft task in a Space's task Inbox. This is different from Create Reminder in the Reminders category. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Title** | Text | Yes | None | Task text. | | **Space** | Craft Reminder List | No | Your only Space, if you have one | Destination Space. If you have more than one, Craft asks which to use. | | **Content** | Text | No | Empty | Text added inside the task. | | **Schedule Date** | Date | No | None | Schedule date. Doesn't set a deadline or a notification. | Leave **Section** empty. Setting it causes the action to fail with “Sections are not supported”. Apple's format also shows Flagged, Images, Tags, URLs, Repeat, and Location Trigger. Craft ignores these fields. For images, a deadline, or a notification, use [Create Task](#create-task) instead. #### Returns **Craft Reminder:** the new task. Pass it to Open Reminder, Update Reminder, or Delete Reminders. Opens a Craft task. Tasks in the Inbox open in the Inbox; other tasks open in their document. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Reminder** | Craft Reminder | Yes | None | Task to open. | #### Returns Nothing. Updates a Craft task. Off marks it as not done. | | **Space** | Craft Reminder List | No | Empty (keeps the task in its Space) | If set, must be the task's current Space. Selecting another Space fails with “Moving tasks between spaces is not supported”. | Leaving Title, Content, or Schedule Date empty keeps the current value; it doesn't clear it. Apple's format also shows Tags, URLs, Repeat, Flagged, and Location Trigger. Craft ignores these. #### Returns **Craft Reminder:** the updated task. Deletes one or more Craft tasks. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Reminders** | List of Craft Reminders | Yes | None | Tasks to delete. They can be in different Spaces. | #### Returns Nothing. Opens Craft search with your search term. #### Parameters | Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description | | - | - | - | - | - | | **Search** | Text | Yes | None | Search term. | Searches the Space you have open in Craft, or the last one you used. Results open in Craft; the shortcut doesn't get a list of documents back. To choose the Space, use [Open And Search](#open-and-search). #### Returns Nothing.
